Remember Jade Cargo International, the ill-starred Shenzhen Airlines and Lufthansa Cargo joint-venture? Well, its three 747-400Fs are up for sale yet again, for, amazingly, the sixth time. The market may finally be in the right place to receive three older aircraft: it’s busy, capacity is tight, and planes are said to be once again coming out of the desert. What’s perhaps most interesting about this new attempt at a sale, however, is that they are being publicly auctioned on Taobao, Alibaba’s shopping platform. Starting prices for the three range from Rmb123m ($18.5m) to Rmb135m ($20.3m). Interested? The auction opens on November 20. If they are out of your price range, you could always buy a Jade Cargo aircraft model (pictured) instead, for a more reasonable Rmb40 ($6).
