Further trade tensions are mounting in the east, with South Korea set to drop Japan from its fast-track trade “white list”. As China and the US trade spat continues, Reuters reports that the government in Seoul is responding to Japan dropping South Korean goods from its “white list”. The stand-off follows a court case last year in which South Korea’s supreme court ordered Japanese companies that benefited from conscripted Korean labour during the Second World War to pay compensation.
