UK-based Priority Freight has continued with its ambitious staff and executive expansion programme with the appointment of Stuart Stobie as group sales and marketing director.
The company, which specialises in expedited contingency logistics solutions to high-value verticals such as the automotive, aerospace and pharmaceutical industries, has given Mr Stobie the brief of developing and implementing its global growth strategy.
Neal Williams, Priority Freight group managing director said: “Priority Freight has experienced sustained growth and built substantial revenues in recent years. With Stuart’s appointment, we’re signalling our intent to further develop the business globally. Stuart brings a wealth of experience and logistics insight that will be sure add significant value to our business.”
He joins Priority Freight from TNT, where he was most recently managing director of UK and Ireland. During his 28 years with TNT he held a variety of roles including senior management and at boardroom level and has experience in sales, marketing, operations and customer service. He has held posts in the UK, the Netherlands, Middle East, Far East and Africa.
“This is a great time to be joining Priority Freight. It’s a company with a proven track record in emergency logistics, and has great potential to grow its presence in key markets. I’m really looking forward to helping shape the future success of the business,” Mr Stobie said.
Over the last year, Priority Freight has increased its headcount by 34%, and is continuing to recruit for several positions in various offices. Company revenues exceeded €75m during the 2013/14 financial year and in 2014 it completed over 100,000 expedited shipments.
