Lionel Van der Walt, the enthusiastic chief of IATA US offshoot Cargo Network Services, has resigned less than two years into the job.
Mr Van der Walt is the fourth president in less than a decade to leave the organisation, following the brief tenure of Warren Jones, who left in a public row with IATA.

October 09, 2017 at 9:30 pmVery sorry to see Lionel leave the industry but obviously wish him the very best. Lionel created a reservoir of credibility and good will around the industry. As I observed with several of my own airport clients, Lionel didn’t simply open communication with the airport industry but went to them, participated in their events and invited their visible participation in CNS’s. He will be missed.
