A collision between truck and train has again brought into focus the issue of truckers attempting routes that cannot accommodate their vehicles. The Handy Shipper reports that a semi-truck was hit by a freight train on a rail-crossing yesterday in Georgia after incorrect display data on a navigation system sent the truck driver down a dodgy route. Fortunately, no one was injured in the collision, but the incident caught the attention of US media after the trailer’s contents – soft mints and candy – spilled across the tracks.
