Jürgen Kuntz has returned to SAL Heavy Lift and a job in Hamburg as the new head of the company’s Asia Desk, following a 15-year stint in China.
Mr Kuntz first joined SAL Heavy Lift in 1993 as a trainee. In 2001 he was posted to China and set up the company’s first office in the country, in Shanghai. A second office in Beijing followed shortly after and he remained general manager for SAL in China for the next 10 years. In 2011 he joined BBC Chartering to help it develop its presence in the Chinese market and was responsible for creating a new setup for their sales organisation locally.
Mr Kuntz has now returned to SAL to strengthen and expand its Asia-related business, including maintaining and expanding key client relationships as well as developing new business opportunities.
“After all those years in Asia, I am very happy to return to the new (old) team. I am looking forward to new challenges,” he said.
