DB Schenker has announced a triple appointment to its management board, covering air and ocean freight, contract logistics and land transport.
Xavier Garijo becomes board member for contract logistics, joining from Revlon, where he served as chief supply chain officer for more than five years. He brings two decades’ experience to the role, having begun his career at the end of the 90s as a project manager for Unilever in the US.
Thorsten Meinck becomes board member for air and ocean freight from Kuehne + Nagel, where he served as head of global ocean freight. Mr Meincke began his career with K+N in 1989, before leaving after a decade only to return in 2002, leaving again in 2010 before returning for a third stint in 2014.
And Christian Drenthen (pictured) becomes board member for the newly created position of land transport. Unlike his fellow appointees, he has a background with the company, having joined Schenker in 2015, most recently serving as head of global land transport.
Chief executive Jochen Thewes said: “The new management board team will lead us into a new era, while at the same time fostering continuity.”
Both Mr Drenthen and Mr Garijo will be assuming their new roles on 1 January, while Mr Meincke will join no later than 1 June.
