Port squeeze threatens US retailers' holiday stocking plans

Walmart has begun diverting containers away from the congested US west coast Los Angeles-Long Beach gateway with reports of ships now waiting for days to secure a berth. Some of the worst congestion in living memory is caused by a confluence of factors, and it would appear to have little end in sight. And US retailers are really beginning to suffer as a result, as this Reuters report describes.
