The conditions for an IPO will be just right at the end of next year, according to Hapag-Lloyd. The German shipping line, which recently announced a tie-up with CSAV, believes the gap between overcapacity and demand will thin, boosting the market. New chairman Michael Behrendt also said that an Asian shipping line would be a “more interesting” partner now than rival and neighbour Hamburg Sud.
