This is a lovely video, eight minutes long, which tells the story of the UK’s Manchester Ship Canal, and Peel Ports Group’s efforts to revitalise it, and boost Liverpool as the key transatlantic port. The company has a vision to use 19th century infrastructure for 21st century Britain – saying it will help get trucks off the road and regenerate the north west by attracting freight away form the south coast. Can the north rise again?
