DHL has appointed Tobias Schmidt as chief executive for global forwarding in Germany.
Mr Schmidt’s appointment will take effect on 1 April, as he leaves DSV Air & Sea, where he served as executive vice president for central and eastern Europe.
He brings more than two decades’ experience in the logistics sector, with a track record in integration and business transformation, including the integration of ABX and UTi.
In a DHL internal memo seen by The Loadstar Mr Schmidt is praised for his “strong” experience in the German and European forwarding business. He will report directly to the chief executive of Global Forwarding Europe, Thomas George.
