Asking a UK-based logistics journalist to write a column about a strange industry (rail freight) in a land far away (the US) was always bound to be fraught with risk.

Inevitably, that led an uninitiated writer ? all the while thinking “surely not” ? to type ‘CSX t-shirts’ ...
