Deutsche Post-DHL has appointed Thomas Ogilvie (pictured above) to its board as personnel and labour director, taking on responsibilities that hitherto were group chief financial officer Melanie Kreis’s.
The 40-year-old Mr Ogilvie will take up his new role on 1 September, leaving Ms Kreis to focus on her financial role.
Mr Ogilvie was previously executive vice president of corporate development and has held a number of management positions during a 16-year career at DP-DHL.
He joined in December 2001 with the Market Research Service Centre at Deutsche Post Consult.
DP-DHL group chief executive Frank Appel said: “Thomas Ogilvie has very successfully held important operational and corporate management positions in the priority areas of e-commerce and digitalisation which will shape the future of our industry.
“I am confident that his knowledge and experience will help us to further develop our HR function and our employment practices appropriately in a period of digital transformation.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Melanie Kreis for her excellent leadership of the HR function since 2014.”
