Beleaguered UK secretary of state for transport Chris Grayling has again been rapped, for reportedly failing to provide for freight traffic on a proposed upgrade to the Trans-Pennine rail corridor.

January 05, 2019 at 10:46 amOur problem is lact of Cross-Pennine routes. The Huddersfield -Standedge-Stalybridge route is hopelessly inadequate and connot be improved to a worthwhile standard. Among other things in my website http://www.thornshapedroute.com/, I propose a route closely following the M62 from Leeds to near Junction 22 and vaiduct over the Vlillage of Newhey, mximum gradient 1:83 to Manchester Victoria
