DB Schenker is investing in technology. While last year it announced a five-year agreement with online shipping marketplace uShip; this year it is putting its money where its mouth is by investing $25m into the company. uShip is also a freight automation software provider, which has raised $50m so far. Its Drive4Schenker platform launched this month in Germany and will roll out through Europe, “optimising management of 5,000 loads a day with 30,000 DB Schenker transport providers”.
