Naughty Atlas Air ? allegedly. The FAA has proposed a $275,000 fine for what it claims is poor aircraft maintenance, alleging that after fitting a component upside down, the carrier operated 24 flights. Atlas Air is not taking this lying down, and has pointed out that the flights in question were nearly five years ago, and that it will “vigorously defend itself” . However, its statement to ATW didn’t deny the claim.
