United Airlines has joined KLM in offering customers the opportunity to buy sustainable aviation fuel. It has launched an Eco-Skies Alliance programme, which will see more than 12 global companies collectively contribute towards the purchase of 3.4 million gallons of SAF this year, which would cut about 31,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions. United also becomes the first airline to allow individual customers to buy SAF. Companies involved in the programme include Ceva Logistics, DHL Global Forwarding, DSV Panalpina, Nike, Takeda Pharmaceuticals and HP.
