February 10, 2012 at 8:23 pmFrom Mark Mohr, CSafe: The combination carriers miss out on the perfect opportunity to take their cargo case, whatever it may be, to a captive audience…via the in-flight magazine. Unfortunately, most every carrier I've been associated with has restrictions on such content. The only in-flight cargo marketing I've ever seen was the mention of a small package product on a Copa cocktail napkin and something on CO’s PetSafe program on an in-flight video. What a waste!

February 20, 2012 at 7:19 amThe environmental arguement is a political misnomer it is onlyused as an excuse to raise revenue. The 250+ mega carrier ships that ply the oceans create more environmental damage than all the aircraft flying can becasue they use very inefficient Diesel Engines which burn heavy fuel oil which is the dirtiest fuel going. This is why there is always a huge environmental impact when a ship founders. But as these ships are in such small numbers the revunue raising oppertunity is non-existent compared to the millions of passengers and kg of freight moved by air.
