Conf call redux: Turning Schenker into DSV
Managing expectations
The sudden departure of DB Schenker’s chairman and CEO, Thomas Lieb, has triggered speculation throughout the industry. One theory, mooted in Cargoforwarder, asks whether there is any relation between his resignation and an investigation by Cologne state prosecutors into nine Schenker managers who may have been involved in ‘facilitation payments’ to expedite cargo through St Petersburg port. DB Schenker is not talking ? but that is unlikely to end the speculation.
