Shippers seeking capacity in and out of Venezuela will have to face up to higher transport costs, with MSC reportedly imposing surcharges for shipments in the region.
Splash 24/7 claims the charge is being referred to as a “War Risk Premium”. Apparently the world’s second largest carrier isn’t specifying how much the charge will amount to, but its decision follows reports that Hamburg Sud and King Ocean Services was slapping $1,200 charges on containers for Venezuelan shipments.
