An uncontrollable carrier?
Atlas Air is to take over the operation of Nippon Cargo Airlines’ (NCA) three 747-400Fs.
The three aircraft have been unused since NCA grounded its fleet last June over maintenance record concerns. The carrier said it would consolidate maintenance and operations under one fleet type, the 747-8F, of which it has eight. Atlas, which already operates 747-400Fs and has an existing agreement with NCA, will take its three aircraft on a CMI basis, Cargo Facts reports.
