Norway is looking to boost its salmon exports to Malaysia by between 5 and 10% this year, from about 1,900 tonnes. Asian appetite for the fish is growing and Norway, as the second largest exporter of fish in the world, is hoping to capitalise. About 40% of Norwegian’s fish exports are destined for Asia, including Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia.
