One of the most interesting aspects of next year’s introduction of stricter sulphur emissions legislation in northern Europe will be the degree of compliance. This could lead to vast operational differences between carriers,which will divide neatly into those that transgress and those that comply – baddies and goodies, respectively. The latter have now formed a lobby group to push governments and maritime authorities to enforce the regulations properly.
