Southern Air, now a subsidiary of Worldwide Air Logistics Group, has promoted Paul Chase to chief operating officer. Formerly vice-president of system operations for the carrier, which he has worked for since 2007, Mr Chase becomes responsible for safety, flight operations, network, finance and maintenance, among other things.
Daniel McHugh, chief executive officer of Worldwide Air Logistics Group, said: “I’ve worked with Paul since 2010 and his strong leadership skills, strategic business approach, and appreciation for every aspect of Southern Air’s business will serve Southern Air’s customers and its team of dedicated professionals well.
“Paul has played a leadership role in every major decision Southern Air has made in recent years, including the company’s successful introduction of the 737 programme and the airline’s consistently outstanding operational performance.”
In addition, Southern Air president Fred deLeeuw becomes Worldwide Air Logistics Group’s CFO. The statement made no mention of any replacement.
