A former JP Morgan managing director is facing up to seven years in jail after allegedly offering to hire the son of Kerry Logistics’ chairman in exchange for the logistics operator sending business the US bank’s way. The South China Morning Post reports that Catherine Leung Kar-cheung pleads not guilty to the charges. The alleged offence is reported to have taken place in January 2010. Senior prosecutor Laura Ng referenced chairman’s son Ang Ren-yi’s “low grade point average and lack of financial or accounting background”, alongside Ms Kar-Cheung’s reported “pressing” for Mr Ren-yi’s appointment, as suspect.
