Indian freight logistics start-up Vaahika is seeking to redress the issues of fragmentation and indifference to technology within the sprawling nation’s transport sector. As reported in FreightWaves the company has developed a digital platform that aims to connect small fleet owners with SMEs looking to ship freight. But the effort will come up against what chief executive Siddharth Jain recognises as a “disparate” approach among Indian operators to engage not only with technology but with the type of shipments they want to handle. One thing that bodes well for Vaahika, is that it has somehow maintained profitability since it initially launched.
