Biggest salmon producer wants to farm fish on a containership

There’s an interesting concept coming out of Norway. As salmon farms struggle to cope with an outbreak of sea lice, there’s a plan afoot to buy cheap panamax containerships – of which there are many available – and build a farm on board. While this article doesn’t mention whether the ship would also be used to distribute the salmon, it apparently will cost half the price of building a conventional salmon farm.
