Commonly thought of as one of the best managed US trucking and truck brokerage firms, JB Hunt yesterday released its first-quarter results that showed a highly impressive 34% increase in profits, overcoming the challenges posed by the US west coast port congestion. Volumes were up in almost all its segments, although it also had to contend with lower revenues per unit load and rising interest costs.
