The UK aerospace industry has committed to net zero carbon emissions by 2050. The Sustainable Aviation collective believes it can support 70% passenger growth but reduce the industry’s carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from 30 million tons a year to zero. It added that the UK was “well-positioned to become a leader in green fuels” – but wants government support. Between 2010 and 2016, UK passenger numbers in the UK grew by 25% but emissions only increased by 5%. Aviation Week reports.
