Intriguing article from Splash24/7 reporting a complaint from terminal operator Contship Italia to Italian authorities alleging that a party of executives associated with the Greek port of Piraeus, including a former Greek government minister, dropped in on its transhipment hub of Gioia Tauro uninvited. They “visited the terminal without authorisation, and stayed an hour at a point along the quay where they could not be picked up by the video surveillance system, and likewise did not follow the obligatory internal roadway, in order to avoid being filmed”. Piraeus is run by Chinese operator Cosco, previously accused of price-dumping by Contship.
