Read my lips: no drone deliveries in this lifetime
Would you like fries with that?
It has begun. Drones are set to be used by SwissPost next year after drone company partner Matternet won certification to operate them, day or night, over cities. SwissPost will deliver blood samples and other small parcels between hospitals in Lugano. The drones have a 2kg payload, can fly up to 20km (12 miles) at an average speed of 36kph (22mph). The service is expected to alleviate delays caused by traffic.
