Here is first-hand proof that there are no winners in a trade war. While China’s trade deficit with the US may have expanded despite the introduction of tariffs earlier year, its economy is beginning to hurt. It has posted its weakest quarterly GDP growth figure since it began recording the stats some 27 years ago, according to the South China Morning Post. There are some green shoots of optimism hear and there, but the broad picture is one of continued uncertainty for carriers serving the Chinese trades.
