Anecdotally, airlines reported a good end to the year, but IATA’s latest air freight analysis reveals demand was flat in November, as measured in freight tonne km. But that headline figure should be put into context: demand was flat, year on year, and 2017 saw a particularly strong year-end. Nevertheless, it was the slowest growth rate since March 2016. Overall, the first 11 months of 2018 saw FTKs up 3.9%, which is still not bad when you consider that the year before, that figure was 10%. You can see all the details here.
