Shippers should be allowed more access to airlines to book directly, according to the new chairman of TIACA’s shipper advisory council.

    Strange ! If very keen on dealing with airline directly , set up a sister company get relevant license of home country then apply for IATA and do as you wish. Comparing with passenger transport and freight also doesnt make sense. In many countries many shippers even unaware how to pack their export goods.

    Agree with previous comment. We do a proper job, and internalizing it maybe seems a good option for some, but most certainly is not for a lot of others…
    Besides, would shippers be also willing to get debited directly and automatically via CASS instead of paying our invoices 60 days later ?

    Author’s logic comes out of the fact that he completely doesn’t understand what freight forwarder job is about, or what export or import is about. It is not just about BOOKING. It is about proper packaging, documentation, customs compliance, transport coordination, costing and so on and go on. Typical for “The Suits”…no idea about operational side of this job.
