There are plenty of signs that in transport and logistics (T&L), boasting ocean exposure is, quite obviously, something you won’t ever forgo if you control capacity. Meanwhile, the attractiveness of road operations, well, that’s gone down the drain.
One T&L product, ocean, currently appears recession-proof, whether you own the assets or not. The other, land, is recession-prone – the older and less efficient the fleet, the worse it is. That’s the thinking.
