Terror alert spurs extra screening of cargo

Forwarders are reporting some delays on inbound air freight to the US, from Europe, Africa and the Middle East following the latest terror threat. The US Department of Homeland Security has beefed up security measures and has called for shipments to be screened at the final point of departure.  Brandon Fried, executive director of the Airforwarders’ Association, called the move “redundant”.
