Menzies Aviation has created – and filled – a new position at the company: executive vice president fuels.
Morven McCrindle, previously regional director, EMEAI airport affairs, for Delta Airlines, where she spent 13 years, has taken on the role spearheading Menzies’ strategy as it looks to balance its mix of fuels across its businesses.
Ms Morven will be working closely with regional teams to identify and capitalise on strategic growth opportunities, as well as optimise operational practices to further enhance efficiency, said Menzies.
She was also formerly general manager of global jet fuel procurement and operations for Delta.
Mervyn Walker, Menzies chief operating officer, said: “Morven brings a wealth of aviation experience and fuel operations expertise to this newly created role. We are looking forward to working closely to pursue our ambitious growth strategy and to further develop best practice across our fuelling operations.”
Despite it being World Earth Day, Menzies’ announcement made no acknowledgement of any plans to look into sustainable fuels. However, last week, the company pledged to make 100% of its own operations carbon-neutral by 2033.
