Reports of shippers using air freight to keep supply chains moving while cargo is stuck on Hanjin ships have been relatively few and far between. But Ford Australia was forced to order new parts and fly them out to ensure its production line could continue. Ironically, Ford was due to close that particular plant on October 7, and the cargo on Hanjin Milano was unloaded late last week, but Ford had already committed to the new parts. No doubt an expensive end to the Broadmeadows production line which made cars for 56 years.
