DHL has begun a consultation to review its Freight UK operation. It plans to axe unprofitable services, which could lead to the loss of more than 500 jobs in the UK. It is thought that stagnating volumes and poor revenue led to increased losses this year, while DHL itself said it was down to “customer churn”. Sites in Cardiff and Hemel Hempstead have already closed in the past few months. The GMB union called it a “kick in the teeth” for workers.
