AMI (Air Menzies International) is introducing a weekly chartered flight from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Sydney International Airport (SYD).
This weekly charted flight starts on Saturday 4th April 2020, chartered on Boeing 787-9 Series with capacity of up to 34 tonnes for this key trade route from the west coast of the USA direct to Australia’s biggest city.
With the belly capacity removed from the market on this key route, this is welcome space to the agents and freight forwarders of California to continue to have their goods delivered to the international markets that require it.
AMI Vice President – Americas Tibor Fodelmesi said. “During these uncertain and unprecedented times, it was vital that AMI played its part in ensuring cargo continues to flow to where it needs to go. Our customers can now get exclusive access to guaranteed capacity on this weekly charter and bring some certainty to them in a very challenging market. This is a great example how during a crisis, innovation and cooperation is vital to help serve our customers and our wider communities”.
Jonathan Clark CEO added “The Covid-19 has brought huge disruption to the industry and whilst chartering aircraft is not a core service we offer; we are certainly no stranger to the concept. When Tibor and I first discussed the possibility, we were both very excited to be able to offer this to our customers during these difficult times.
Customers who are interested in this service are asked to contact Richard Marquez – Head of Sales & Business Development, Americas for AMI on [email protected] to discuss the best options that fits their business needs.
