Russian media has reported that Volga-Dnepr has hired Alexey Skatin as its managing director.
Mr Skatin has been with Russian Post since 2013 and will continue as a member of the management board and advisor to the chief executive, alongside his new role at Volga-Dnepr. But he will relinquish his role as first CEO deputy e-commerce at Russian Post, a job he has held for three years, in which he created a service offering for e-commerce players, large and small.
Russian Post thanked him for his service, but it appears Volga-Dnepr was not expecting the news to be released by the postal operator and has not yet issued its own announcement.
However, the group said in its internal newsletter last month that Tatyana Arslanova was moving out of operations to become a board and committee member to focus on the company’s long-term strategy.
It’s not the first crossover between Volga-Dnepr and Russian Post: Dennis Ilin, executive director of VD subsidiary AirBridgeCargo, became deputy CEO for international business at the postal service, before leaving last year to join the Eurasian Development Bank in project finance.
