Matternet, the drone company well-known in air cargo circles, has linked up with Mercedes to develop van/drone deliveries. The German car company has invested in Matternet, and the pair yesterday unveiled the Mercedes Vision Van, equipped with an automated cargo space and delivery drones. The van driver can deploy the autonomous drones to deliver multiple packages to customers by air. It will also be equipped with cloud-based software to boost efficiency and productivity.
