Qatar Airways is eyeing the oversized cargo market. It has wet-leased a 747-400BDSF – non-liveried and all white – from myCargo Airlines, its first aircraft of the type. In three months’ time it will switch to a production freighter that has a nose-loader, enabling it to carry big cargo for infrastructure projects. Meanwhile, Qatar Airways has also announced that it is to increase flight frequencies to Asmara, Eritrea, and to Dhaka, Bangladesh. From 7th September 2015, flights from Doha to Asmara will be increased from four to five times per week, a 25% increase in capacity and enhanced connectivity for customers in the UK. And on 9th December 2015, flights from Doha to Dhaka, Bangladesh, will be increased from 10 to 14 weekly, increasing capacity by 40%.
