Not very good news. China’s manufacturing grew at a weaker pace in April than it did in March, in “disappointing” figures. The slowdown spread across Asia, to Korea, Japan and Taiwan as global demand remains weak. The Chinese economy still grew at 7.7% in the first quarter – a figure most developed countries can only dream of – but it missed forecasts.
