The Loadstar has reported on the Chinese export data that belied the carriers’ and forwarders’ experiences. Well now, a Chinese Customs official has admitted to sourcing some figures from the internet, “which were groundless”. He also acknowledged that false trade declarations do happen. No one seems surprised by these admissions.
