He bemoans the lack of clarity surrounding the new VGM rules, and calls for a healthier carrier industry, where shipping lines stop chasing market share and start working out how to become profitable. “Shippers are willing to pay more for improved service,” he insisted. He also urged better coordination among ports and carriers to ensure that the mega-ships could be served properly.
