DHL is to invest in India, encouraged by the forthcoming Goods and Services Tax, which will simplify freight operations. In an interview with The Economic Times, CEO Frank Appel praises the country’s prime minister for having more vision than western politicians, and notes that the GST will allow DHL to consolidate distribution centres in the country.
DHL also plans to invest in cargo facilities at Mumbai and Delhi airports, and predicts a greater role for itself in Indian e-commerce.
