Kukla Beverage Logistics has appointed drinks industry veteran Chris Porter in a business development role.

Mr Porter has long experience in the industry. Most recently he was chief executive of The Benevolent, the drinks industry charity. Prior to that he was at drinks logistics specialist JF Hillebrand’s Port and Laker division, where he spent 34 years as director.

Mr Porter joined Kukla last month “to promote the global range of freight and logistics services to the UK drinks industry and to consolidate the growing reputation of the company, which was established in 2017”.

He said: “I am delighted and excited to be working with a wonderful team of talented professionals, who are dedicated to providing communicative and personalised service to the drinks industry’s supply chains.

“It’s obviously a very challenging time to join a company specialising in inbound freight solutions. From what I have seen so far though, the proactive, can-do attitude from the whole team I am hugely impressed, but not surprised, that they have come so far in a relatively short space of time. Having successfully worked with most of them, I have no doubt that they will continue to deliver this quality of service. I’m really looking forward to being part of this growth and demonstrating the advantages that a partnership with Kukla will offer to our clients.”

Kukla managing director Steve Wood said: “Chris is a highly respected figure within the beverage sector, and with a similar philosophy of core values, a perfect fit as we continue our development as a strong, credible market player.”
