It wouldn’t be the start of the new year without some air freight management changes. At the end of December, Emirates SkyCargo formally announced that Cargolux stalwart Henrik Ambak has become the carrier’s senior vice president cargo operations worldwide. Mr Ambak will be responsible for managing all the cargo arm’s operations at both Dubai airports, as well as at more than 140 other stations throughout the world.
Other news out over the holiday season was that John Johnston, CEO of Champ Cargosystems, is to leave the company soon. His replacement has not yet been announced. And of course Peter Scholten is to leave Saudia this month, while charter supremo Steve Manser has also left to take up a similar role at Qatar Airways. Their replacements have not yet been confirmed.
