The value of Norwegian seafood exports rose more than 27% last month, ending a period of steady decline from January to September this year. Figures for last month totaled NKr5.3bn ($860m), an increase of NKr1.1bn from September. Egil Ove Sundheim, director of market information with the Norwegian Seafood Council, credits this to a rise in the price of salmon. Norway’s herring exports are also on the rise, while mackerel sales remain stable.
